Absolutely gobbled this up - such an interesting read, thank you!

I'm one of those rare Meghan fans who often agrees with the points the Megxit community make and yet still very much wishes her well.

I suspect that her actions are very often authentic responses, but they're perhaps motivated by a need to 'talk back' to her haters. When you follow the criticisms - "the children don't exist," "She and Harry are separated" etc - parts of how she shows up feel like they make sense.

I'd be very interested to hear your takes on the PR moves of the Royal Family (William's current links with Jeremy Clarkson seem especially curious to me).

I feel the same way. I suspect there are more "rare birds" like us out there. I believe many people keep quiet about liking a/o following Meghan, because the online criticism from both sides simply isn't worth it.

The best example of Megan being not authentic was the pretzel bag. I believe she did this because she thought it would look thoughtful. A better look would have been to provide snacks, with no possibility, of having nuts. Then adding a note that said nut free snacks. It come across like she is playing a role that is not hers. Also, I feel that she is playing a role that is not hers. I think the clothes are probably her best bet.

As a PR professional and lifelong royal watcher, I had high hopes for what MM joining the royal family meant and the shift it would bring. Unfortunately, I was disappointed at the outcome but truly wished her and Harry well when they decided to leave royal life. However, most of their decisions have been missteps.

I agree with Suse that her actions are authentic responses, but they aren't, IMHO, authentic to who she is or wants to be. MM wants to be seen as someone of influence, but she has failed to let the public know who she is and has spent much of her time answering criticism. After her new series came out, there was a lot of online chatter about how inauthentic her choice of clothing was, etc. I don't believe it was a coincidence that when she posted an Instagram reel of her and a friend making breakfast, she seemed much less put together.

I don't believe they will ever find true public acceptance until they decide who they are as people, as a couple and as a family. The public can't know who you are if you don't know. They are in survival mode and it shows in the chaos.

Not sure how the show is a failure when all over social media #Withlove Meghan was trending and everyone is making the pasta and cake. I have seen so many people inspired by the show especially Black women. More importantly, people were opening up their wallets selling all the products out. I truly think she has found her target audience, when you take away all the "hate watch" The wall street journal did an article talking about the "Meghan Effect"

I also don't think their Netflix contract is going anywhere, if Netflix partnered with her on the ecommerce side, and if PH is creating a documentary of Diana set to air in 2027.

I do think they don't listen to their PR, and she's hell bent on doing it her way. For instance, her social media is stuck in the 2000s. This is not how you lunch a brand in 2025, she should be discussing the BTS, how it is made, the ingredients, cooking with it.

She also thinks she's MORE than where the public places her. That's the biggest issue I see, and her PR team is not proactive enough to anticipate things. Which they should be in 2025, they have British Media actively campaigning to destroy them, and they don't take it seriously enough.

Gah. I also am not a MM hater. However, I feel like she's throwing anything to the wall to see what sticks. Her latest venture (With Love, Meghan) seems more self-serving and elitist than authentic or strategic. I think it's more about survival and her attempt to stay relevant. If I were advising her, I would recommend she build her brand around the Archewell Foundation she and Harry initially created. Focus on charitable endeavors where she can honestly make an impact and benefit those less fortunate. She needs to take a page from Princess Diana's playbook and build her charitable brand before launching into a personal brand. Once her audience gets to know her for her work with others, they will be more welcoming and interested in her personal brand.

Can you explain the phenom of people saying the public hates her and don't like her but everything she does is news, and everything she wears sells out. Content creators have realized Meghan hate sells and the British Media hellbent on destroying them via Royal Family feeds them.
